This purse was designed to be worn with jeans, very casual. I was still finding my way with designing projects, and having to do all of my designs by hand, on graph paper, with colored pencils. (I am so glad I don’t have to do that anymore!)
The beads are 11º seed beads, probably Czech, because I remember the sizes were inconsistent. At this time I was still learning the process, and trying to find beads, so the end product design was still a bit primitive.
I think this was my second project. The shape was also my own. After looking at ways other purses like this were being made I easily figured out how to design my own shapes. As with most of my purses this one was made as all one piece. The sides fold in to meet and were sewn together. Then it was lined. This particular handle was made using upholstery cording.
My niece was given this purse years ago when she was a kid. I have no idea if she still uses it or even if she still has it.
