A Handful

This purse is a fun little clutch that was done in large square beads. The design is from WALCO bead crafts booklet No. 21. The original was suppose to have been done in wooden beads, as seen in the title “Wood Bead Craft”. The booklet, that my mother found and gave me, shows you all the different purses you could make with the wood beads. I decided to change things up a bit.

The design is worked with two needles and goes pretty quickly using these larger beads. It was done in two pieces/panels that were then sewn together. You have to find a lining that looks nice, because the design is so open that it shows quite a bit, as you can see in the picture.

The purse I made is on the cover, bottom left. These designs were from the 1930s from what I can tell online. I actually sold a version of this too. Only time I made official money at my craft, (relatives don’t count).
